Watch or Not?

21 Jump Street is actually rather good. No, it’ll never win Best Picture, but it’s a funny comedy anyway.

Both Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum are fantastic as bumbling rookie detectives who are brought back to high school to work as undercover students . Tatum makes a mistake  and swaps his popular child persona for Hill’s geek persona , and the two learn about one other’s life. As the ecologically aware villain, Dave Franco (James’ younger brother) is excellent, while Molley Tracey (Brie Larson) is excellent as Hill’s love interest. Ice Cube and Nick Offerman (Parks & Recreation) are fantastic as the officers’ supervisors, while Rob Riggle and Ellie Kemper have wonderful parts as professors (Chris Parnell, on the other hand, feels wasted).

Sure, it’s sloppy, but it’s also humorous and intelligent when it counts.
